Storms, heat, fog, wind, tides, river stages and water levels can make conditions unsafe. Check current weather, marine forecasts and water conditions before departure and continue monitoring conditions while on the water.

Personal responsibility

Fishing, boating, paddling, wading, camping and other outdoor activities involve inherent risk. Use appropriate safety equipment, wear a personal flotation device when appropriate, tell someone your plan and make decisions based on your own experience, equipment and current conditions.
