Kepler Lake, also known as Kepler Creek Lake, is a wooded North Louisiana reservoir in Bienville Parish near Jamestown, Castor and Bienville. LDWF documents a 1,925-acre lake used primarily by anglers, duck hunters, lake residents and recreational boaters. Its timber, creek-channel structure and relatively undeveloped public-access setting give it a quieter character than many larger regional reservoirs.

Best Areas to Fish
Creek-channel edges, submerged timber, shoreline cover, vegetation and changes around the bridge and coves can hold fish. LDWF has previously marked and cleared boating channels from the dam toward the bridge, reflecting how important the old creek channel is for both navigation and fish-holding structure.
Best for Beginners
Use the public ramp near the dam as the simplest starting point. Stay in known or marked boating lanes until you become familiar with the lake, and approach timber-filled or shallow areas slowly.
Visitor Tips
Kepler Lake has fewer developed visitor facilities than places such as Caney Lake or Grand Bayou Reservoir. Bring food, water and other supplies with you and verify current lake level and ramp conditions before towing a boat to the lake.
